My name is Lukas Forssander, and I am excited to be joining the coaching staff as one of the new Group 2 coaches this summer. I have been in the club since 2009 and participated in 3 of the 4 disciplines: speed, water polo, and diving. After nine years of swimming and two summers of volunteer coaching, I’ve decided to step up and take my NCCP Level 1 course. Above all, I believe my swimmers should learn to work hard and have fun while they’re at it. Outside of the pool I keep myself occupied with a variety of activities. For example, during the winter, I ski race with the Whistler Mountain Ski Club and have been skiing since I was two years old. I am also a very passionate player of the euphonium (look it up) and the valve trombone with Windsor Secondary’s Senior Jazz and Concert bands. Cruisers so far has been a terrific experience, and I’m looking forward to sharing what I’ve learned with all the younger swimmers. This summer’s going to be a blast, and I can’t wait to see you all at the pool!
